Tyler Ford has been performing since he was 11 years old and became a part of The Glee Project’s second season. The Oxygen reality TV series is looking for new cast members for FOX’s hit series Glee. Tyler is transgender and has been very open about his life’s journey. After his elimination, he talked about his time on the show and what his plans are for the future!
Tyler says the biggest challenge on The Glee Project was being able to embrace each challenge in a convincing way for the mentors, but this week’s episode was very difficult for him. “To try to be sexy in a way that I’m not was definitely the biggest challenge and how do I portray that? And how do I be true to myself,” he explained.
While sad that his time came to an end on the show, Tyler says that the input from the mentors was priceless. “The mentors left me with so much advice and so much encouragement and support that I am very confident in my future and in all the things I’m capable of doing.” he said adding, “As a performer I can’t wait to start working again and put all of the criticisms that they gave me to good use.”
As a fan of Glee, he was very excited when he auditioned for The Glee Project remembering, “It’s always been my dream to perform and it was like this is what I want to do with my life, I’m going to go for it, I’m going to audition and it ended up working out really, really well.”
Tyler isn’t ready to give up on his goals just yet and is now more determined than ever to make it in show business. His plans for the future are to “Surround myself in music and immerse myself in everything creative that I possibly can because I just want to do so many things with my life. My main goal has always been get a record deal and go on world tour.”
