American Idol’s Phillip Phillips On Recovery: Go, Go, Go!

June 30, 2012 05:37 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

Despite being crowned the American Idol winner, teen heartthrob Phillip Phillips has had a hard time of it since his big victory. The poor guy had to go through a major surgery earlier this month. How is Phillip Phillips’ recovery going? And what are his next big plans? Read on to find out!

Phillip Phillips showed up at the premiere of the much-anticipated movie The Amazing Spider Man, giving the press plenty of opportunities to ask never-ending questions. As usual, the American Idol victor was gracious, talking and laughing about the recovery process and what he’ll be up to in the near future. He said that “rehearsals are going well” for the American Idol tour, but that the prep work has been keeping him super busy. His life as of late has been “non-stop with interviews and rehearsals and studios. It’s a lot of go, go, go.”

Although he has taken out a little time to just rest and relax, Phillip Phillips still has quite the drive. Sometimes, he needs the help of friends and family members to hold himself back. “I’ll try to keep going and people around me will say no, you need to lay down.”

The most important tidbit we learned about Phillips this weekend? He’d love to be the next Spidey. When asked about which superpower he’d like to have, Phillips answered, “Shooting a web and swinging across the city and climbing a wall is pretty awesome. It’s kind of tough to beat. You could be super strong or invisible but that’s pretty awesome to be able to climb as high as you want to.”
