Everybody has his or her weakness, especially cooking in the kitchen. For some of us who are disasters in the kitchen, it’s everything. But for the MasterChef contestants, just that one little soft spot can mean the difference between surviving Gordon Ramsay for another week or going home. Hear what MasterChef Scott Little has to say about his time on the show in an exclusive interview with Reality TV Magazine.
Scott Little had progressively been getting better as a home cook and wanted to show his stuff to Chef Gordon Ramsay when the auditions came around to Washington, D.C. So he was shocked when he was invited to the MasterChef top 100.
“When you’re in the top 100, you don’t focus on anything but getting that apron,” said Scott. “It’s overwhelming.”
“The fact that I got three “yes’s” from the judges, that was definitely one of the highlights of the experience,” Scott said about his applause-worthy green chili that he made in an hour when, normally he said, it take four hours.
“I did really well with the protein challenges, desserts are not my forte. The apple pie didn’t go well and I knew I was at a deficit with dessert.”
So when it came to strawberry shortcake it fell, well, short. “When it was down to Felix and I, I knew I was going home,” said Scott. “There was a relief and sadness. I was bummed, but my cooking is 10 times better than what it was before I went on the show.”
And for all those Scott Little fans? He’s got a food blog and is starting a catering company. “I had my first gig last week,” he announced proudly. “The plan is to start my own catering company, as that grows, we’ll see where it goes from there.”
