America’s Got Talent’s Nikki Jensen: Howard Stern Was Right

July 06, 2012 02:00 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

The competition was fierce this week on America’s Got Talent and a lot of talented performers were sent home. Australian singer Nikki Jensen was just one of eight contestants booted out during the first AGT elimination round. While reflecting on her America’s Got Talent adventure, she took to heart the words of AGT’s most controversial judge: Howard Stern. Keep reading for the scoop!

Well, it appears that at least one person in this world agrees with America’s Got Talent judge Howard Stern. Singer Nikki Jensen believes that the shock jock’s analysis of her performance was spot-on. She told The Deadbolt, ”I do think Howard was accurate…He definitely always makes valid points even though he is a bit harsh.”

What exactly was wrong with Nikki’s performance? Howard and Nikki agree that the performance didn’t provide a great representation of the singer’s talent. “I felt like I wasn’t able to give an accurate representation of the kind of artist that I am in New York. I definitely feel that what I did in Vegas was more me and a stronger performance.” Nikki also cites her discomfort surrounding the “electronic sounding track” as significantly contributing to her downfall.

It’s sad to see Nikki Jensen go home, but who knows? It might not all be over. She’s keeping her fingers crossed for a later return to America’s Got Talent. “I just hope that [Howard Stern] can give me another chance to showcase  [my singing] maybe in the wild card round.”

Why would you write “at least one person in this world agrees with Howard Stern” ? Howard picked 4 acts to move on and those were the same ones America chose. So just about everyone agrees with Howard Stern!

Does everybody agree with Howard Stern… or did Howard’s prediction influence the vote? I think it’s safe to say that David Garibaldi and the Scott Brothers would have gotten through no matter what, but I can’t help wondering if Edon and the Hayes duo were helped along by Howard’s pronouncement. If it had not been for Howard, I might have expected American BMX and The Distinguished Men of Brass take those last two spots instead. And of course, after Howie voted for Edon over Todd Oliver, there really was no suspense left; we knew Howard was going to vote Edon through

I don’t really disagree with Howard, but I am not sure his prediction was fair or good for the competition.

I think the judges should not be allowed to mention who they think will proceed to the next level in case it does affect the voters. Also I don’t think the judges should be allowed to pick between the final two. Leave it up to Americas voters, not the judges!
