Is ‘Hollywood Exes’ Better Than ‘Real Housewives’?

July 07, 2012 04:00 PM by Shayla Perry

It’s only been a few weeks since its premiere on VH1, but already, people are buzzing about Hollywood Exes. Is it better than Bravo‘s multi-million dollar Real Housewives franchise? Exes Jessica Canseco and Andrea Kelly weigh in. Of course, we know which show they think is better, but it may not be for the reasons you think.

Table flipping, drink tossing, weave pulling? No thank you.

Those are just a few things that you won’t be seeing on VH1′s Hollywood Exes. At least not in this season.

Though the show is ripe with drama, the ladies featured say that they’re not looking to make names for themselves like most of Bravo’s Real Housewives. Instead, they’re more concerned about empowering women.

“We need to support each other as women rather than beating each other up,” Jessica Canseco, ex wife of former baseball star Jose Canseco tells Radar Online.

“You put a bunch of girls in a room and you’re going to get fights and disagreements and that’s just the way it goes,” she explains. “I fight with my own sisters. We do go through some ups and downs and we’re all about passion when it comes to things, and we’re going to agree to disagree, but at the end of the day we really are sisters and we really do care about each other, so we come back together.”

When was the last time you heard something like that during a Real Housewives reunion?!

“It is absolutely a different message to other reality shows where the women are not even friends and they end up hating each other,” Jessica continues. “Why would anyone want to bring somebody down?”

That’s not to say that they aren’t fans of the Bravo shows. We all have our guilty pleasures!

“I like the Beverly Hills Housewives,” says Canseco. “I just don’t care for the shows where they don’t like each other and they’re not getting along. I don’t care to keep continuing to watch something and it’s episode after episode when they are continuing to hate each other.

“What good is that?” she asks. “What is that teaching us? I don’t get it. That’s what is so great about our show, women need to support women.”

“[It's] a true sisterhood,” says R. Kelly‘s ex, Andrea. “You can see how we really support each other because our lives are so parallel.

“The stories are the same but we’re just changing the names. Sometimes when you look at [a] celebrity it’s like smoke and mirrors, all the glitz and the glam and the luxury, and the trips, and nobody gets to see what’s under the red carpet,” Kelly explains. “This show gives you a peak as to what is under there and it allows ourselves to be vulnerable. You get to see our insecurities and ups and downs. We have days when we’re not feeling good about ourselves, and days when we want to lie in bed and cry.”

Bravo Housewives should take some tips from the Hollywood Exes, they always don’t have to be so much ‘DRAMA’ to get together with one another and just have ‘FUN’!!!!!

It’s absolutely better. These women, so far, seem to not want to give scummy producers what they want, which is to act like clowns. I hope they keep it that way. Once it turns left I will stop watching like did the other housewife shows.

They very different shows . With the Ex it show them have fun talking about things that happens not only in celebrity life’s . They showing how they are trying to have there on identity . And how they are trying to survive after being marry to a celebrity . And they seem to have a real friendships . I truely love it .Better than see women fight and yell and curse at each .
