There’s protective. There’s possessive. And then there’s domineering. Did Tom Cruise exert too much control over Katie Holmes’s life, so much that it interfered with her work? Sources are saying that the “So You Think You Can Dance” grew tired of Tom’s attitude and just couldn’t take it anymore. So what did Tom do?
According to TMZ and sources close to the superstar relationship, Tom Cruise was very, let’s say, “involved” in his wife’s professional and personal life. All the way back to 2005 when the couple first started seeing each other, Tom invoked what is called an “Art Kill.” This is a mandate to revoke any publicity images from a film that aren’t flattering to a star. Apparently Tom did not want any publicity photos of Katie Holmes and Aaron Eckhart in “compromising” situations getting out to the public from the film “Thank You For Smoking.” If you recall, the film showed Katie and Aaron in some rather racy scenes, so you can imagine the level of discomfort for someone like Tom who’s always used to getting the girl.
Sources also say that Tom got a little too involved with Katie’s job during the filming of “Batman Begins.” If you remember, she wasn’t invited back for the second installment of the Batman franchise, “The Dark Knight.” Hm, wonder why not? Apparently Tom wouldn’t allow Katie to fly with the rest of the cast and could only travel by Tom’s private jet. Morgan Freemen was reportedly “disgusted” by this practice, but he has not been available for comment.
Much of what everyone has already suspected about the TomKat relationship is now coming to light. Stay tuned for the next dramatic turn.
