Speculation has been rife surrounding the judging panel for the upcoming season of American Idol. According to rumor, both Adam Lambert and Katy Perry were considered as potential judges. Adam Lambert and Katy Perry would certainly add interest to the show, but the latest subject of the rumor mill is also by far the most ridiculous: Charlie Sheen. Could Sheen be a ‘winning’ prospect for American Idol? And what does he think about the idea? Keep reading to find out!
According to American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, it’s time to insert a little tiger blood into the Idol equation. He was most likely joking (although he won’t admit to it) but he did tell TMZ that he would be pulling for Charlie Sheen and Jerry Lewis as the newest additions to the judging panel.
TMZ later approached Charlie Sheen to learn his take on the possibility of an American Idol run, and, surprise, surprise, the former Two And A Half Men star thinks he would be perfect for the job! That being said, there are a few conditions that FOX must fulfill before taking on his majesty. First, FOX needs to be okay with Sheen working on both American Idol and Anger Management. And second, FOX better be willing to pay! ”If the numbers move the needle AND ‘Idol’ matches 20% of my weekly salary for Autism Speaks, JDRF, and the Boys and Girls Club … then the hell with it. As we say, pour the smoke.”
Do you think Charlie Sheen would be a good addition to the American Idol judging panel? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
