Jennifer Lopez On American Idol Return: “It’s Time For Me To Go”

July 12, 2012 08:56 AM by Lisa Princ

With Jennifer Lopez‘s uncertainty after last season, and all the recent talk of possible new judges for American Idol, it’s no surprise that we may not see J LO on the new season. In a recent interview, Jennifer Lopez revealed that: “it’s time for me to go,” but is she really leaving? More after the jump!

No official announcement has been made on whether or not Jennifer Lopez will return to American Idol for the next season, but when Jennifer Lopez appeared this morning on the Today Show, we knew she would get grilled about returning. “I am thinking that it’s time for me to go,” Jennifer Lopez said, but then added: “It’s a tough decision either way, but I have to say there are so many things I do that I put on hold for that. It’s a heartbreaking decision if I have to go.” Yes, that was an “if” in there.

What does that mean? Most likely that she is almost ready to announce her departure from American Idol, and when asked again if she had made a decision, J LO explained: “Little by little I am … All I can let you in on is my own thought process with it because that’s where I truly am … I love everybody, I love all the guys on the show, I love the family that’s there … but I am thinking it’s time for me to go and do other things I love to do.”

Yeah, we’ll take that as a yes, she is leaving. With any luck, American Idol will choose a better judge this time around. Who would you like to see join the judging panel on American Idol? Comment and share your thoughts with us below!
