Surprise, surprise, another judge is leaving American Idol. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler announced yesterday that he would be exiting the show in order to spend more time with his band. His departure marks just one of many in the last few years. Jennifer Lopez may also be leaving, although she has yet to announce a final decision. Randy Jackson could also be on the chopping block! In all this, the only constant is American Idol host Ryan Seacrest. What did Seacrest have to say about Steven Tyler’s departure? Keep reading to find out!
Steven Tyler’s fellow American Idol stars are pretty bummed about the Aerosmith star’s departure. Fellow judge Jennifer Lopez has already said that she cannot possibly “imagine anyone else” on Idol right now. In fact, the news of Steven Tyler’s exit could have a huge impact on whether Lopez decides to remain on the show.
Ryan Seacrest is also going to miss having Steven Tyler around. The American Idol host said in a statement, “I still can’t believe I shared the same stage with Steven Tyler. He is a brilliant artist and a true legend of rock-and-roll, and it was a blast to have him on Idol these last two seasons.”
Although he’s sad to see Tyler go, Seacrest remains excited for the Aerosmith singer’s future. “As one of [Tyler's] legions of fans, I can’t wait to see him on stage rockin’ out with Aerosmith this summer.” The “rockin’ out” has already begun, as Seacrest was quick to mention on his Twitter page: “I just spoke w my brother @IamStevenT! A legend who is about to crush it on stage tonight in quebec!”
Steven Tyler may be out, but, as far as we know, Ryan Seacrest will be sticking around. He remains the one constant in a sea of change. It will be interesting to see how he gets on with Steven Tyler’s replacement.
