If you’re still upset about Emily Maynard‘s decision to dump “Mr. Perfect,” Sean Lowe, ahead of the finale of The Bachelorette, don’t be. He may have fallen head-over-heels in love with the sweet southerner during his time on the ABC reality show, but now, Lowe says that he’s “thankful” for the way things ended and ready to move on.
“That was the first time that I had ever experienced heartbreak in my life,” Lowe, 28, tells Us Weekly during a recent conference call, opening up about his relationship with Bachelorette Emily Maynard.
While in Curacao, Sean was FINALLY able to tell Em that he loved her, even going as far as writing a heartfelt letter to her daughter, Ricki; all before finding out that he wasn’t going to be moving on to the the finale. But it seems as though he’s working on building that bridge and getting over it.
“Now that we’ve had some time and distance… [I know] she’s not the one I’m supposed to be with for the rest of my life,” says Sean. “In a way, I’m thankful that it ended where it did for me, and I think she made the right decision.”
We’ll get to hear more from Sean when ABC airs the Men Tell All Special, and we’re sure it’s going to be a good one!
We wonder if he’ll address any of those rumors about him being approached to be The Bachelor! Even if he doesn’t know if he could handle it, we’d sure like to see him; especially if wears a kilt the whole season!
