Survivor: Philippines Set For 90-Minute Premiere on Sept. 19

July 17, 2012 06:15 AM by Ryan Haidet

It’s edging closer.  Mark your calendars now.  Get ready to watch the epic island battle once again.  CBS has announced that Survivor: Philippines will make its debut at 8 p.m. EST with a special 90-minute premiere episode on Wednesday, Sept. 19.  What more can you expect from the show’s 25th season?  Read on to find out!

As we learned during the Survivor: One World finale in May, Survivor: Philippines features three returning players who were all medically evacuated from a previous season.  Each veteran will be placed on one of three tribes — red, blue and yellow — with a batch of new castaways.

The entire cast will be introduced at some point in August.

After a rather lackluster season with Survivor: One World, I’m hopeful that Survivor: Philippines will be a stronger example of why this is still such a great reality show.  Hopefully the Redemption Island twist will stay dead in this season, too.

CBS says that this marks the 10th time in the past 11 seasons that Survivor will get an early start to the fall television season.

What are you expecting from Survivor: Philippines?  Did you like the way Survivor: One World played out or were you among those who disliked the season?  Are you happy more former castaways are returning to play the game again?  Sound off and leave a comment below!

I will watch if Michael Skupin or Johnathan Penner are on reguardless of Colton. However, if it’s just Colton and a couple others, I WILL NOT watch this season and I am a diehard.

I was done with this show, although it used to be my favorite, after they stacked the deck so Boston Rob would win. It just seemed like we weren’t watching an honest show any more. Also couldn’t stand to watch another episode with “Coach” on it.

I stopped watching last season when I realized that No one had the slightest idea of what strategy was. I detested Colton; if he shows up I’m outta there. I figured that the reunion was gonna be a Colton-fest, and I did not watch it. I am not confident in the new group; there are a bunch of religious people, and others who want to play like Russell. If the season turns into another religious fest like a few seasons ago, I’m not interested. I’ll watch the beginning, but I’m not confident.
