Finally, the long wait is almost over! ABC has decided to give Dancing with the Stars fans a break from all the suspense with an early release of next season’s all-star list. Typically, the cast of Dancing with the Stars isn’t released until later in the summer, but ABC is mixing it up this year! Read on for the details.
ABC is bucking the trends this year in multiple ways. First, instead of using the typical Dancing with the Stars format, they’re pulling in celebs from former seasons to compete in an all-star competition. We suspect that the network is just using this format because it’s running out of so-called stars, but it’s impossible to know for sure. The second change is that the new season’s cast is being announced quite a bit earlier than usual. Right now, the big announcement is set for July 27th. ABC will reveal the all-star cast during its presentation at the summer press tour for the Television Critics Association.
So far, ABC is doing a pretty good job at keeping its all-star list quiet. But that hasn’t prevented fans of the show from speculating! So far, a wide array of celebs have been mentioned as possible cast members, including Bristol Palin, Mario Lopez, Stacy Keibler, Mel B and Carson Kressley. Stars such as Margaret Cho and Joey Fatone have expressed interest in returning to Dancing with the Stars, while Misty May-Treanor and Joey Lawrence have actively campaigned for spots on the cast list. Unfortunately, there’s still another eight days of waiting before we know which stars will be returning to the dance floor. We’ll share all the details as they are released!
