American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest Reacts To Colorado Shooting

July 20, 2012 09:47 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

This morning, we were shocked and saddened to learn of the horrific events that took place in Aurora, Colorado. As you probably have heard by now, a shooter identified as James Holmes entered a local movie theater for the opening of The Dark Knight Rises and opened fire on the other moviegoers. At least 12 people were killed in the tragedy and over 50 were reported injured. Twitter members have been busy tweeting their thoughts and prayers to the victims and their loved ones. Ryan Seacrest is just one of many celebs weighing in on the tragedy. What did the American Idol host have to say? Read on to find out.

Like many shocked Twitter users, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest took to the social networking site to comment on this morning’s tragic shooting in Colorado. Seacrest tweeted, “Thinking about the families who were affected by this horrible incident in Colorado. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.”

Ryan Seacrest was certainly not the only celeb to share his reactions to the shooting on Twitter. Paula Deen took a little time out from her busy schedule to pray for the victims and their loved ones. She tweeted, “My heart and prayers go out to all the victims and families in Aurora, Colorado this morning.”

Fashion Star’s Jessica Simpson was clearly cut up over the whole situation. “Praying for the victims and families of those involved in the shooting in Colorado. My heart is broken. So awful. God Bless…”

E!’s Giuliana Rancic found the news saddening as well: “Chills & tears watching coverage of #Aurora shootings. Praying for the innocent lives lost & those in hospital. What a tragedy.”

Dancing with the Stars alum Erin Andrews kept her reaction short and sweet: “Thinking abt everyone in Colorado..”

The Apprentice’s Donald Trump shared a reaction that was a little more political in nature. “At least 12 dead and 50 wounded in Colorado–bring back fast trials & death penalty for mass murderers & terrorists.”

We won’t comment on the politics of the situation, but we are keeping the victims of the Aurora shooting in our thoughts.
