While many fans are fuming that Survivor host, Jeff Probst did not receive an Emmy nomination this year, fans of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette were hoping that maybe, just maybe, Chris Harrison would get a nomination. Unfortunately, once again, Chris Harrison was snubbed. In a recent interview, the handsome host shared his disappointment, but it’s not because he was snubbed. Read on to find out why Chris Harrison is bummed…
Sorry Bachelor and Bachelorette fans – we won’t be watching Chris Harrison pick up an Emmy this year, but even more disappointing is that neither show was nominated either – and Chris Harrison is not happy about that! “Ten years of Emmy snubs. I really wish the show would have gotten nominated,” Harrison recently told Entertainment Tonight, adding: “We’ve been on the air longer than any show that’s been nominated.”
So, who was nominated? For reality shows, the nominations are: The Amazing Race, Dancing With the Stars, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, and The Voice. As for the hosts that were nominated, they are: Phil Keoghan of The Amazing Race, Ryan Seacrest of American Idol, Betty White of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, Tom Bergeron of Dancing With the Stars, and Cat Deeley of So You Think You Can Dance.
Interesting list, but in all seriousness, Chris Harrison beats out most of those hosts, with the exception of Ryan Seacrest, who brings his fun sense of humor to Idol. Chris Harrison went on to share his disappointment that neither The Bachelor or The Bachelorette were nominated, adding: “The Emmys itself is really political. We’ve never made a push. It’s unfortunate. While it doesn’t help your show or career like the Oscars or Golden Globes, it’s definitively an ego thing.”
Bummer all around. Your fans were rooting for you, Chris Harrison! What do you think of the continuous Emmy snubs for The Bachelor series? Should one of the shows have been nominated? What about Chris Harrison? Comment and share your thoughts with us below!
