Katie Holmes has stated that she is ready for a new phase in her life since divorcing Tom Cruise, and she may have gotten what she was looking for. The actress, who has frequented FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance is heading back to Broadway as she landed a new gig set for this fall. More after jump!
Yep, Katie Holmes is ready to move on since her divorce from Tom Cruise, and Broadway just may be the way to go! Katie Holmes landed a role in the new family comedy Dead Accounts by Theresa Rebeck, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, who won over audiences with her hit Seminar on Broadway last season. Katie Holmes will play the character of Lorna, a fairly boring gal, who lives with her aging parents in Cincinnati while trying to pull her own life together. Sounds like a fun gig, doesn’t it? We’re sure Katie’s cute quirkiness will make a great addition to this show!
Katie Holmes, who made her Broadway debut in 2008 in a revival of All My Sons, turned down an interview, but did manage to tell the press: “I am thrilled to be coming back to the Broadway community and honored to be a part of this team.” Since her split from Tom Cruise, Katie and her daughter Suri, have seemed to make Manhattan their new home, so this gig fits right in for her! Performance dates and other cast members will be announced at a later date.
