Nick Cannon Won’t Let Mariah Carey Join American Idol For Less Than $100 Million Bucks

July 20, 2012 01:00 PM by Lisa Princ

That’s right folks! After Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez were fired walked away from American Idol, Mariah Carey has been rumored to be in talks with the show about a judging spot. But now, Mariah’s husband, Nick Cannon says he won’t let Mariah take the gig – unless they are willing to pay her $100 million bucks. Say what? Read on for more!

It’s no surprise that Nick Cannon, host of America’s Got Talent, feels that American Idol cannot afford his wife (or maybe he is just trying to deter her from taking the gig), as he recently told TMZ: “If they gave JLo $20 million, they might have to double that,” to get Mariah on the show, that is. But now, Cannon is claiming that his wife is worth at least $100 million for a judging spot. WHAT?!?!

According to Star Pulse, Nick Cannon explained recently: “They want her, I know that… but I ain’t letting her outta the house for less than $100 million. They’ve got to step up if they want that. That’s Mariah Carey, she’s got more number ones than anyone ever. She’s the biggest singer/songwriter in the history of music; that’s worth something. And who’s gonna watch my kids if she goes on American Idol?”

Nick Cannon went on to reveal that Mariah Carey is definitely interested in the gig (and in talks with the show), but assured us that producers will have to make it worthwhile for her…we’re just not sure they will go with $100 million worthwhile. He also had no problem sharing his opinion that his wife is worth way more than Jennifer Lopez on the judging panel – ouch.

Wow, do you think Mariah Carey is worth $100 million bucks? We aren’t so sure. Do you think Mariah Carey would make a good addition to the Idol judging panel? Sound off below!
