Project Runway’s Beatrice Guapo Shares Her Regrets

July 21, 2012 02:00 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

Poor Beatrice Guapo was the first contestant booted from this season’s premiere of Project Runway. The designer failed to impress the judges with her knit style. Now, she’s telling the world about her experience. While she’s bummed to have been cut, she’s still glad to have had the experience. What else did Beatrice Guapo have to say about Project Runway? Keep reading to find out!

Project Runway reject Beatrice Guapo definitely has regrets when it comes to her time spent on television’s biggest design show. In particular, the aspiring designer wishes she would’ve gone with her gut. She told Zap2It, “I think one thing I didn’t do was go with your instinct, with your aesthetic. That’s probably your saving grace with everything. I wished that I had done more of what they liked on my rack, which is more me, what got me on. I think I should’ve stuck with what I do best.”

Still, even after the sting of being cut from the show, Guapo has to admit that the experience was valuable. “Overall, I really enjoyed it. I love the designers. Everybody has a really strong personality and they’re really funny. We were laughing a lot. … It was a great experience.”

The highlight of Guapo’s time on Project Runway? Definitely meeting Tim Gunn. Beatrice Guapo thinks Gunn, “brings so much to the show and you really do trust his opinion. He just always has a great approach to everything. A really great vibe.”

It’s sad to see a talented young designer leave Project Runway, but we’re excited for the rest of the season! Who is your favorite so far? Feel free to share below!
