Maybe this is all just one epic prank for MTV‘s Punk’d, because we’re not really sure why else Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis won’t just admit that they’re a couple. Rumored to have been dating since April, and denying it at every possible turn, paparazzi snapped the former That 70′s Show cast-mates getting quite cozy during the wrap party for Kutcher’s Steve Jobs biopic over the weekend. So, um…explanations?
“It’s absurd! A friend is a friend,” Kunis, 28, told Extra back in April when asked if the rumors were true that she was dating former That 70′s Show star and Punk’d co-creator, Ashton Kutcher.
Months later, in an interview with British Elle, the actress asserted that she’s “totally single,” insisting that she and Kutcher only “hang out.”
“We’ve known each other for 15 years. We have mutual friends. We’re comfortable with one another,” she explained. “That’s it! There’s no crazy love story, nothing more.”
So, perhaps now we should clarify the definition of a “friend” and “hanging out,” because we’re almost 100% sure that most friends don’t pack on the PDA, sharing intimate (read: STEAMY) kisses in public.
Unless you’re friends with benefits, and well…that’s not exactly the same thing.
Not that they have to justify or explain anything to us. We understand that relationships, whether they’re real or imagined, are complicated enough without millions of people watching and waiting to hear all of the juicy details. But c’mon, guys…don’t spit in the air and then try to tell us it’s raining! You can at least say that you’re a little more than “just friends.”
And if you’re not going to, at least do a better job of keeping your hands (and lips) to yourselves in public.
