The lame coach’s twist took a very expected, highly anticipated turn on tonight’s episode of Big Brother 14. It came at the very end of the episode as host Julie Chen announced that the four veterans may enter the game as regular players for the $500,000 prize. Shocking? Not one bit. More on that later. But first, we have an eviction to handle between Danielle or JoJo. Who did the contestants send packing this week? Read on to find out!
Flirting With Disaster
Just a few episodes back, we witnessed a budding romance between Shane and Danielle as they flirted with each other like a pair of 5th graders. Both even admitted privately in the Diary Room their feelings about the other person. But Shane’s eyes were locked only on Danielle. As we saw tonight, he teasingly flirted with JoJo as they tried to get some sleep in the Have-Nots bedroom as Ian was busy cuddling nearby with a teddy bear. The flirting was just that. There really didn’t seem to be anything more than just goofy chatter. But Ian took something more away from their sexual discussion and told Danielle all about it.
Using that information as ammo, she went to Janelle and Ashley to tell them everything Ian had dished out about the JoJo/Shane showmance. Janelle said it was definitely a scary thing to have two people so interested in each other because it creates a solid voting block. While that’s definitely a good point, why is it an issue for Shane and JoJo to be a block and not Shane and Danielle? JoJo and Shane didn’t appear to be extremely close to one another to deem them as a major threat as one. Seems a tad off to me.
Another One Bites The Dust
When it came time for the live eviction, JoJo knew she was going because her plea for safety included constant comments about how everybody is making a mistake before any of them even voted. Wow. What a crummy way to ask to stay in the game. When the votes were tallied, JoJo was evicted with every vocal ballot falling against her except for Shane’s. You can’t blame him for voting the way he did because JoJo was his last remaining team member. I don’t think it had anything to do with their flirtatious ways.
Ironically, JoJo told the houseguests to “make big moves” as she walked out of the game when she was nothing but a follower the entire time we saw her in the house. She didn’t make any big moves herself — not even when her back was up against the wall as a nominee. She instead followed Willie Hantz and his nonsense and seemed to listen to advice from her worthless coach, Britney. During her exit interview, JoJo said she deserved to be in the game more than Danielle because she proved how much fight she has in her. But I didn’t see any of that fight. Did you? Even when she had that final chance to make her case before the live vote her only argument was that they are making a mistake. That’s a great way to win people over.
I do think the housegeusts would have been smarter to evict Danielle because it would have also taken Dan out of the game. If you can knock two people out at one time that makes the most sense. Shrink down the numbers.
A hurried (not including Joe) ice hockey HoH competition had the contestants using an oversized stick to shoot balls down a faux rink toward a series of numbered slots. The contestant with the highest score after one shot would win HoH. Ian was in the lead with nine until Shane slid into number 20. Trouble is, I actually thought Julie Chen was going to say that Shane scored a zero because his ball didn’t really enter the slot. It just kind of sat on the edge of it. But nope. His shot was good enough for them and he became the new HoH.
The Twist Everybody Expected
Just as fans have been speculating since this season premiered, the four coaches have a chance to enter the game as full-fledged players very very very soon. How? It’s all up to America’s vote. Ugh! For the next week, America has the option to vote if they want the coaches to enter the game to compete for the $500,000 prize or if they want them to stay in the house simply as coaches. Oh please. Does anybody really anticipate that America will vote for them to continue coaching? Get real. It is possibly the worst twist ever created for the BB house. And if America does what I’m expecting by voting for the coaches to enter the game, it’s truly unfair to all of the newbies. These four players were able to sit around the house with complete safety for a full month without any concerns. They were basically given a free ride for weeks. We find out the results of America’s blech, I mean, big decision during next Thursday’s episode. It would be better if America could also vote to eliminate the coaches completely. That I would actually be happy to vote for so we can finally see the newbies play their own game.
What did you think of tonight’s episode? Were you surprised that JoJo was evicted from the game? What do you want to see happen with the coaches? Do you think America should get to vote to send all four coaches home? Sound off and leave a comment below!
