It’s official! We will see Michael Buble, Mary J. Blige, Rob Thomas, and now, Billie Joe Armstrong on the new season of The Voice on NBC. Wait…Billie Joe who? If you aren’t familiar with this famous vocalist/guitarist, read on to find out all about the man who is joining team Christina Aguilera!
Last week we learned that Mary J. Blige and Rob Thomas were signing on to the new season of The Voice as mentors, and now we have learned that Billie Joe Armstrong has joined team Christina Aguilera. If you are like me and heard the name, but it didn’t ring a bell, it will. Billie Joe Armstrong is the vocalist/guitarist for the popular band Green Day. And it just so happens that shortly after The Voice premieres, Green Day’s first of three new albums will be released on September 25.
In a statement to the press, Armstrong revealed that he and his family are huge fans of the show because: “it’s not molding artists, it’s just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover.” Billie Joe Armstrong reportedly began taping the show with Christina Aguilera this week, and he says working with her is “a lot of fun.”
According to other reports, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine have worked out their feud, so it should be smooth sailing for the new season. Who else is excited for the new season of The Voice to air?
