Remember Dancing with the Stars winner Helio Castroneves? It’s been awhile since he was on the show, but longtime fans will recall that this smooth-moving IndyCar racer managed to snag himself a mirror ball trophy in 2007. Now, he’s returning for a shot at a second win on Dancing with the Stars. What big change has Castroneves experienced since his last stint on the show? And how will that change impact the all-star season? Read on for the details!
Helio Castroneves may be excited to compete a second time in Dancing with the Stars, but he’s also very nervous. He may be a champion, but he is just one of many winners taking the stage as members of the new all-star cast. Fellow Dancing with the Stars champs expected to compete this season include Apolo Ohno, Shawn Johnson and Emmit Smith. Additionally, contestants such as Melisa Rycroft and Gilles Marini also proved themselves to possess extraordinary dancing talent. Commenting on his fellow contestants, Catroneves said, “I wasn’t even thinking about how difficult the competition was…what have I put myself into!” Still, he know that he is lucky to take part in such an amazing opportunity. I know it’s going to be a lot of fun. And it’s a great group of people!”
Things are different for this round of DWTS, and the changes involve more than a cast made up of Dancing alums. This time, Castroneves ha a daughter to consider. “I was at a different phase of my life when I competed earlier. Now I have this little girl and she’s awesome. I want her to be a part of this. Hopefully, she’ll be a dancer too!”
Hopefully, we’ll get to see Castroneves’ adorable daughter cheering in the audience! Either way, it will be great to see him back on the Dancing stage!
