What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…unless you’re in the kitchen! While guests are enjoying traditional wedding festivities, the master chefs are running around in the kitchen dealing with one disaster after another. This week, the chefs are cooking for a wedding ceremony on tonight’s episode of Top Chef Masters. Eleven award winning chefs continue to battle it out in the kitchen to be crowned the Top Chef Master on the Bravo reality TV series.
Along with bragging rights, the chefs are competing for prizes and money that will be donated to their charities. The show is based in Las Vegas and all of the chefs put their luck to the test. The 11 competing chefs are Patricia Yeo, Takashi Yagihashi, Art Smith, Thierry Rautureau, Missy Robbins, Kerry Heffernan, Debbie Gold, Lorena Garcia, Mark Gaier, Clark Frasier and Chris Cosentino.
The rotating judges include Krista Simmons, Francis Lam, Ruth Reichl and James Oseland.
Host, Curtis Stone announced that the master chefs will be catering Christine and Jay’s wedding. Each chef must create a dish for the couple’s special day. Stress starts to build as the chef’s dash through the food store to get their items!
Once in the kitchen, Mark tries to cook the fish perfectly–a difficult task when you’re preparing for 200 guests–however things don’t go according to his plan.. Curtis asks the bride how her salmon was and she said fantastic but one of the judges says her salmon was raw! Meanwhile as Art is getting the cake together on the table, it falls over! Chefs Chris and Patricia run to his aid. Art needs more icing and Chris and Patricia jump in the elevators to get some for him. Art is able to salvage the cake and brings is out to the couple. Ironically, he baked a pineapple upside-down cake which sort of ended up a little upside-down! Art says he has made cakes for Presidents and celebrities including Lady Gaga and can’t believe this happened to him.
The judges attended the ceremony and the reception. Throughout the night Curtis checked in with the bride, groom and the guests to see what they thought about the cooking.
The judges selected Patricia as the winner of tonight’s challenge who gets $10,000 for her charity.
Unfortunately, Mark, Debbie and Art are brought out to face the judges about their dishes. Art’s cake had architectural problems, Mark’s salmon was raw and Debbie’s decision to add char grilled cabbage to her dish was not liked by the judges.
After deliberating, the food critics decide to eliminate Debbie Gold. Curtis says a donation will be made to her charity.
