Joey Lawrence Disses Dancing With The Stars All Stars Cast

August 04, 2012 06:00 AM by Melissa Stavarski

Joey Lawrence will not be returning to Dancing with the Stars for All Stars, but he sure does have a lot to say about those who will be. For starters, Joey Lawrence criticizes ABC for inviting previous champions back to Dancing with the Stars. What else does he have to say? Keep reading for the full scoop.

Joey Lawrence clearly doesn’t agree with ABC’s decision to allow champions to compete on All Stars. “It should be all runner-ups. I don’t think any champions back in the mix makes any sense,” says Lawrence. “If you don’t win, then you’ve done worse than you did the last time. I think to throw champions in the mix is weird, unless it’s all champions.”

Joey claims he was invited back to Dancing with the Stars for All Stars but turned down the offer.

“I didn’t want to do it. Why the hell would you do it again and go up against people who didn’t win who now can win?” says Lawrence. “It was a lot of fun, but I don’t need to go back.”

Is he serious? We clearly remember Joey actively campaigning for a spot. On July 9th, he tweeted:

“peeps I need you!! go asap to [website] and vote for me to be on the all-stars season @DancingABC! #dwts”

Joey actually gets a little personal. “One mirror ball is enough,” Lawrence tells US Weekly. “[2006 'DWTS' champ] Emmitt [Smith]‘s doing it again. He’s got two Super Bowl rings, maybe he needs two mirror balls. Why would you put winners in there, ABC? What are you doing?”

The other champions are Shawn JohnsonHelio Castroneves, Kelly Monaco, Drew Lachey, and Apolo Ohno.

Whoa! What does he have against Emmitt? If Emmitt wants to dance again, he should dance again. Sorry, Joey, but it sounds like you’re suffering from a case of sour grapes.

What do you think? Were you expecting previous champions to compete again? Is it fair?

I kinda agree with Joey Lawrence about past champions competing when its not all champions, however he is a moron stating Emmitt Smith has 2 SB rings, so maybe he wants two mirror balls. Emmitt actually has three SB rings.

It’s true, it’s either All Stars, where anyone that did not win can compete, or All Champions, where only the ones that won competes. It just does not make sense. I love dancing with the stars and will continue to watch though. It’s not the stars fault they got invited, DWTS did not use better judgment with their invitations. I do hope Apolo wins!!

I’m not too thrilled to see so many winners either, they’ve already proven they can win so why not give someone else a chance? This season will feel like a waste to me if a winner wins again.
