Sharon Osbourne Tweets About America’s Got Talent Departure

August 06, 2012 03:59 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

As you may have already heard,  Sharon Osbourne will be leaving America’s Got Talent in response to a dispute with NBC surrounding the longtime judge’s son. Already, this decision has created a bit of controversy among AGT fans; some support Sharon’s decision, and others are more apt to believe NBC’s reaction. Following a Twitter storm, Sharon took to the social network to clarify a few misconceptions about her departure. Read on to learn what she had to say.

Sharon Osbourne may be pissed at NBC for rejecting her son, but that doesn’t mean she holds anything against America’s Got Talent, a show that has long been near and dear to her heart. She said as much via Twitter, announcing to her followers, “Please don’t misunderstand. I love @nbcagt w/ all my heart and will of course finish out the season. It is still one of the best shows on tv.”

This is good news, of course, as finding a replacement for Sharon could be a bit problematic coming into the show’s semifinals. Sharon added that her departure also is not related to any past skirmishes with Howie Mandel, Howard Stern or Nick Cannon, no matter how annoying these guys can be at times. “I love @nbcagt @howiemandel @HowardStern & @NickCannon. We have the world’s best crew. And most importantly, we have the best talent on tv.”

Fans were quick to respond to Sharon Osbourne’s tweets and the majority appeared to support her decision. Osbourne logged into Twitter a third time to give her fans a quick shout out, tweeting, “Thank you to everyone for your outpouring of support and love.”

America’s Got Talent just won’t be the same without Sharon Osbourne! What do you think of her decision to leave the show? Is it justified? Share your opinion below!
