The Real Housewives Of New York City Recap: Sonja’s Big Mouth In The Big Apple

August 06, 2012 07:21 PM by Megan Thompson

The Real Housewives Of New York City is all new tonight on Bravo. The girls are back from their trip from Miami and out drinking in the Big Apple. Sonja has a little too much turtle time and tells LuAnn what she really thinks of Jacques. Oh yes she did! Will the Countess stand up for her man?

It’s all about the toaster oven and how to brand Sonja.  Surprise! Sonja invited Ramona to be at the meeting with her, Heather and the branding guy. The look on Heather’s face is priceless.  “Okay if this is the way you want to play, let’s play,” Heather tells the cameras about Ramona crashing her branding meeting with Sonja. Of course, Ramona tries to steer the meeting and disagrees with Heather and the expert.  Heather is questioning why she is even helping Sonja in the first place.  Even the “expert” gets annoyed when Ramona takes a personal call during the meeting.  “That meeting was a waste of time and our expertise,” Heather shares with the cameras.  But Sonja does agree that having a hot naked man on the box will help sell the toaster oven.

Sonja and Mario have invited all the girls (minus Heather) to a nice dinner to share their $1,400 bottle of wine. Aviva mentions that she married her first husband, Harry at the specific restaurant.  Everyone laughs because all the ladies seem to know Harry a little too well.  The wine is served and Mario lays down the law with Jacques about the whole “Ramona Pinot” game he played on his wife.  “You’re never going to pull that crap again,” Mario demands of Jacques.  Way to go Mario, that is always sexy to stick up for your lady!

Finally we get to meet the infamous Harry!  Aviva stops by an office to see her ex-husband and the father of her son, Harry.  Now we know why Harry agreed to be on camera, because he is promoting his new app.  Harry has created a “poopy the pig” character that does a butt dance.  Yes, a pig that does a butt dance.  “I really hope that poopy the pig does well, because if Harry does well, Harrison does well,” Aviva shares.

It’s back with “Business Heather” as she is directing a photo shoot.  Heather is still peeved about being ambushed by Ramona and is also feeling “disrespected and under-appreciated” to boot.  Heather wants to sit down with Sonja and tell her how she is feeling, but she has LuAnn there too.  Not sure why LuAnn is in this meeting, but we will go with it.  The brand guy tells Sonja they were insulted by Ramona being there.  Sonja has Ramona’s back and has a good point that they should all be professional.  As Heather rambles on, Sonja stops her and basically tells her that she is backing out and quitting.  Sonja won’t let them back out of the promise to help her, because she doesn’t have the money to actually hire someone.  “Sonja definitely wore us out and she won,” Heather admits.

It’s the Life&Style holiday party, hosted by LuAnn, and all the ladies are invited. All the women are in attendance, dressed in red and drinking a little too much white wine.  Sonja is feeling very well and decides to share her feelings about Jacques with LuAnn and all the women.  “I love her more than you, I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it…” Sonja keeps repeating herself.  Sonja then breaks into tears and says she doesn’t want LuAnn hurt the way she was.  “Be a man and get out now if you’re not serious,” Sonja tells Jacques.  Ramona actually has to intervene and calm Sonja down, because the Countess isn’t pleased.

It’s on with the holiday party, because LuAnn has hosting duties to perform.  LuAnn invites all the ladies up to sing Jingle Bells and introduce the band.  After the Christmas song, the band breaks out with a “I want to f*&k you in the ass” song.  The look on all the ladies faces is priceless!  “I’m sure part of the Countess died that night, because that wasn’t in the book of etiquette,” Sonja jokes.  The Countess practically jumps on the stage to stop the band from playing anymore.

Yeah, that band was awesome. We’re called the Stumblebums in case anyone wants to know. LuAnn can pull out my Mohawk any day!

Ramona Singer is ruining the NY Housewives as she goes off her unfiltered, “says what everyone else is thinking” deep end… Cannot stand to watch the show at all this season because of her! No chance to get to know the new women. She’s also ruining Sonja. Luann has also climbed higher on her high horse than is comfortable..and it all makes you wonder why the new women would even want to be on the show at all.
Rumours are hopeful that Ramona will go, (one can surely hope), and likely Luann, too.

I too am getting tired/bored of the Ramona act…say what everyone else is thinking, as if that phrase excuses extremely rude and bratty behavior. She needs to take a break from the show and get her act together…I was surprised she was not fired at the end of last season! And what is Sonja’s problem? She is receiving professional help for FREE, and has the nerve to complain? Perhaps she should leave the free advice, and find another brand manager…oh wait, she won’t do that because then it isn’t free! One should not look a gift horse in the mouth!

I think all of the housewives shows are hilarious; this is comedy that you can’t make up. Hopefully, it will make you feel a little more sane and “normal”. It’s amazing what people will do or say on TV for money or attention. Airing your dirty laundry, pettiness and back-stabbing talents on TV is really gross. “Class” shows, as they say. But it is funny, even hysterical at times. Real humor is hard to find….

Ramona sucks ! I turn the show off when she comes in-YUCK- She and her obnoxious overly sex crazed or deprived friend Sonja-They are both awful. It makes me wonder if there are allot more New York women like these. Wow-I hope not. If so-I’d never move there. No class at all-those two. Ramona wears dresses that look like cheap prom dresses and oh my Gosh-when Ramona said she was going to “Hold” the 5th- I thought-well-that proves just how stupid she is. The fakeness of all these women is awful. they pretend to be friends and then talk trash about and to each other. Oh-and at that freaky Christmas party- with the i hope “fake” band-that was not for adults-maybe for a 17 year old freak party- gross-no class again. And what planet do these women live on that they don’t know Jingle Bells- Yep-that’s a tough one.
