Kelly Clarkson And The Fray Pull Together To Help Stroke Victim

August 08, 2012 04:00 PM by Lisa Princ

American Idol alum, Kelly Clarkson has not let fame go to her head since winning the very first season of the show. Instead, the Stronger singer recently proved that she has plenty of heart, and is always willing to help someone in need! Details inside…

American Idol’s Kelly Clarkson proves once again why we all love her! Recently, while in Phoenix, AZ, a stagehand was helping to get things set up for her tour, when the 57-year-old man suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and was rushed to the emergency room. The man had no health insurance, and according to TMZ, he was offered it, but did not opt to sign up for it, most likely we assume, because he could not afford it.

After the incident, a concert promoter asked Clarkson to sign a get well card for the worker, but after hearing the news, Kelly Clarkson pulled together with The Fray (who are touring with her), along with some folks in production to help the man financially. Rumor has it that Kelly and The Fray got a hold of all the cash that everyone had with them (including the production crew) and they managed to give the man a total of around $2,200.00 to put toward his medical bills – or at least the bills he will have from the hospital now.

According to TMZ, the man, who remains unnamed is still in ICU, and there has also been a trust fund set up for his family, but there has been no word as to who set that up.
