Pink has experienced a fair amount of career success as of late, with several of her singles hitting the big time in the last several years. Such notoriety must have been very attractive to the likes of FOX and NBC, as both networks were quick to offer the artist spots on American Idol and The Voice. Why did Pink say no to such excellent opportunities?
Sorry Pink fans. You will not be seeing your favorite celeb on a reality singing competition anytime soon. That’s not to say that the singer hasn’t been asked. She claims to have been courted by not one, not two, but three different shows. These include American Idol, The Voice and The X Factor.
Pink doesn’t really need any of those shows. That’s where celebs go when their singing careers are struggling or when they just don’t have any other options. But the real reason Pink doesn’t want to be a judge on a reality show? “You can’t be honest.”
Already under the impression that she’s hated by vast legions of listeners, Pink is not ready to add to that list of haters. “People will hate you if you’re honest. Simon Cowell is the only person who gets away with it because he’s got an accent. And he’s a man.”
Also, the star is surprisingly sensitive towards the feelings of contestants. ”I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings.” Well, hurting feelings does go along with the territory. Unless you’re a pushover like Paula Abdul.
Do you think Pink would make a good addition to the judging panel on American Idol, The Voice or The X Factor? Why or why not? Share your thoughts below!
