Wow, it’s been quite a year for all our paranormal fans. First, we said goodbye to Ghost Hunters‘ Grant Wilson, who left the show, and we recently learned that Paranormal State‘s Ryan Buell has been dealing with health issues. The founder of PRS, sadly, has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
Any of you who have watched Paranormal State on A&E know exactly how private Ryan Buell likes to be. Apparently, the star of the show and PRS founder has been battling with Pancreatic Cancer, and did not let his fans know until recently. When Ryan posted a superhero style picture of himself on his Facebook page last month, with the caption: “Cancer: Even the Greatest of Heroes Have to Take the Fight Within…Soldier On,” fans knew something was up.
Along with the photo, Ryan added: “I know there are many of you suffering from illnesses, and not just cancer. I know the pain that you will feel. And the pain for treatment. I still say SOLDIER ON! Let’s think of one another during those moments, even though we don’t know each other.”
Upon learning of the diagnosis, fans have been swarming Buell with support. Ryan Buell has been spending his time in and out of the hospital, even as recently as this week, a PRS staff member explained: “Last night at the hospital, Ryan underwent a medical procedure and it was successful. He is currently back home resting. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”
Despite the diagnosis, 30-year-old Ryan continues to prove that he is a fighter, and he thanks his fans for all the support and love. Pancreatic cancer claims thousands of lives every year, including Patrick Swayze and Steve Jobs, but hopefully, Ryan Buell will not be one of them.
Our thoughts and prayers here at RTVM go out to Ryan Buell and his family. Continue to fight Ryan, you are a true inspiration to all of us!
