It seems like every celeb imaginable has been paraded around as a potential judge on American Idol. In just the past month, speculation has centered on Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Pink, Kimberly Locke, Brad Paisley, and even (insert eye roll here) Charlie Sheen. This time, Alanis Morisette is at the center of the latest Idol rumors. Could she be joining Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson on the American Idol judging panel?
Alanis Morisette is not new to reality shows. She helped out on The Voice as a mentor and has even performed on the American Idol stage. But now, she’s eager to take on a new role at Idol: judge! Morisette said in a recent radio interview that, yes, she has been in talks over a possible position on the Idol judging panel. ”I’m in talks with somebody right now. I can’t name any names, but I’m pretty excited at the thought of doing it more formally,” she said. “I still have to investigate further, and that’s all I can say.”

It would be interesting to have Alanis Morisette join Mariah Carey on American Idol. Together, these two women were responsible for some of the biggest hits of the 90s. With their stunning voices and long careers in showbiz, these ladies definitely know what they are talking about. But could Morisette bring in viewers? American Idol has struggled with plummeting ratings lately, which is why any choice the producers make will depend on whether they think the judge in question can attract interest from the public.
