X Factor’s L.A. Reid Wants To Make Music With Britney Spears
August 11, 2012 01:00 PM by Gina Hall
People who spend a lot of time on a production can get rather close. “The X Factor” hasn’t even aired and apparently L.A. Reid and Britney Spears want to make beautiful music together. How soon could this happen?
Britney Spears has one album left on her contract with RCA and her “X Factor” co-star wants her to jump ship when it’d said and done and join his label, Epic Records. There may be a bit of a tussle over Britney since Barry Weiss of Island Def Jam Motown and Universal Republic wants her on his label with Mariah Carey, Kanye West and Justin Bieber.
According to “Billboard Magazine,” L.A. Reid is using the stint on “The X Factor” to woo Britney to his ailing label that hasn’t had a hit for a year. Britney Spears may be just what he needs and with exclusive access to Britney for the next few months, who knows what kind of deal L.A. Reid could come out with. It’s already gotten to the point that Britney switched chairs with Demi Lovato so L.A. Reid could sit next to her to get better acquainted.
Although Britney won’t be making her own decisions anytime soon. Reportedly, the “decision makers” for Spears include Jason Trawick, Spears’ fiancé and former agent and Larry Rudolph, her longtime manager.
“Larry and Jason will want to go where the money is,” said a source. The source also noted that Britney has “a pretty good s–t-detector…if L.A. goes overboard, that could push her away.” The source went on to say that Spears can be easily convinced but will go where she’s comfortable.
