The season two finale is tonight with just three finalist’s left on The Glee Project. Unfortunately, Glee creator Ryan Murphy did a recent double elimination sending home Lily Mae Harrington and Michael Weisman! Both contestants have grown tremendously since the beginning of the season and showed great promise. Harrington and Weisman dished about their experiences on the Oxygen reality TV series!

Murphy and his writing team watched as the finalists did their last chance performances. Murphy admitted that this was one of the most difficult eliminations yet. All of the contenders were talented but in the end, Murphy said it came down to finding a contestant who could play a unique “character” on the show.

“I’m very proud of the way that the video turned out,” Weisman said, “I couldn’t be happier with my performance but it came down to the last chance performance and the writers saw more promising characters I think in Blake, Ali and Aylin–I don’t blame them for that.” He said.

Looking back on his time on The Glee Project, Weisman said he gained an important lesson, “I learned so much about myself and performing so I’m pretty happy with the way I did it.” He said.

As for Harrington, she says she has made peace with her elimination. “At the end of the day, I know everything happens for a reason and I know I leave with absolutely no regrets. Everything I did or said I definitely learned from and I think that’s the most important for me in my journey.” She explained.

During his time on the series, Weisman evolved as an actor and said so much of his professional growth came from working with the mentors, judges and contestants. ”I feel like I’ve never grow so much as an actor, I had some incredible experiences,” he added, “I feel like I extended my acting chops exponentially; I’ve never had any experience like this.”

Harrington also expanded her performing repertoire thanks to the various challenges on The Glee Project. “Ryan Murphy really pushed me in every single way possible as a performer, mentally and emotionally,” she said adding, “It was difficult every week but I just took whatever he threw at me and I tried to tackle it as best I could!”
