“MasterChef” is back this evening and who knows what Gordon Ramsay has in store for the final six contestants. Reality TV Magazine has an exclusive interview with finalist, Frank Mirando. What tidbits will the home cook be dishing out as we approach the season finale?
Frank Mirando was inspired to try out to be one of the “MasterChef” home cooks when he was watching the sausage competition last season.
“It was complete mayhem,” Frank Mirando said. “Sausage is something I make once a month. I told myself, for half a million dollars and a cookbook, I need to sign up.”
He found his invite to the top 100 “exhilarating,” but he was also “extremely nervous. One hundred people all passionate about food. I didn’t think I would last a week. But I wound up staying for two months.”
When he was about to meet the judges for the first time he almost didn’t make it.
“The three or four minutes before initially meeting the judges, I almost hyperventilated.” But once he got to know the guys, he realized working with them was no big deal.
“Gordon Ramsay, at first I hated him, but now I like him a lot. I really respect him…I don’t relate to Joe as much, but I respect him. And I love Graham. He’s a really good guy.
And now that there’s only six people left, what can we expect?
“Everyone at this point can cook,” said Frank. “The judges had to change the challenges based on skill. We’re more talented than last season’s contestants…the level of competition has increased.”
So what does that mean? “Not steak and potatoes. More fancy, technical food,” said Frank.
Let’s gear up for the fancy food! MasterChef comes back tonight!
