Scotty McCreery is always quick to praise mentor and fellow musician Brad Paisley, but Paisley may finally have given the American Idol alum something to complain about. During a recent performance in New York, Paisley pulled a prank on McCreery, much to the delight of fans and haters alike. But if you’re going prank someone, McCreery is the ultimate target; he’s guaranteed to laugh it off.
When Scotty McCreery stepped on stage to perform Travis Tritt’s T.R.O.U.B.L.E, he likely didn’t realize that trouble was, in fact, heading his way. Partway through the song, McCreery fell off the stage and into the crowd. He wasn’t hurt, so he just stood up and rolled (yes, rolled) back onto the stage.
McCreery later joked about the incident with his followers on Twitter: “Dagum @BradPaisley pranked me again.. he narrowed up the stage on me for my last song….. #MeetTheCrowdNight #ImOk.”
Brad Paisley was still ready for some fun at the next show, which is why he decked out a narrow stage walkway with a full border of caution tape, as well as several orange cones. McCreery tweeted a picture of the setup, commenting, “@BradPaisley wanted me to be extra cautious tonight! Thanks Brad!”
This isn’t the first prank Paisley has played on a fellow musician and it probably won’t be the last. That doesn’t bother Scotty McCreery though. The American Idol alum loves performing with Paisley and is quick to praise the country star. Earlier this summer, McCreery told Taste of Country, ”[Brad's] just an all-around good guy. You can talk to him about anything.”
Now that Brad Paisley has successfully pranked Scotty McCreery, the big question is, will the American Idol singer return the favor? Stay tuned for more shenanigans from these crazy musicians!
