The time has come for a winner to be crowned on the second season of The Glee Project. Chris Colfer who plays, “Kurt Hummel” on FOX’s hit series Glee is tonight’s special guest mentor along with a visit from a surprise guest! It’s been a long journey for the contestants on the Oxygen reality TV series who have been fighting for a guest role on Glee. After all of their hard work and dedication, a winner is finally chosen. Keep reading to find out who wins the competition!
The final three contestants are Ali, Aylin and Blake. All are vying to win a seven episode guest starring role on Glee. The hopefuls must dance and sing their way onto the Glee set. Most of them haven’t had a lot of professional experience but each week the contestants have learned the lyrics to songs, worked on their vocal delivery and memorized choreography!
The mentors are Robert Ulrich, Zach Woodlee and Nikki Anders. Glee creator Ryan Murphy will ultimately make the call but tonight the writers and actors help him decide who wins the competition.
For their last homework assignment, the cast must sing “You Can’t Stop the Beat” as the guest star, Chris Colfer selects who will get a one-on-one mentoring session. Chris reveals that he can’t make a decision so he chooses all three as the homework assignment winners. Chris works with all three finalists who are preparing last-chance performances for Ryan Murphy. For their final last-chance performances this week, the contestants get to pick their own songs.
The setting for this week’s music video is a high school prom. The song for the final music video is “Tonight, Tonight.” Each finalist has a storyline: Aylin is a student who against her parent’s wishes sneaks out to prom; Blake is the popular yet humble Prom King and Ali is the flirty-mean girl.
Talk about pressure–the finalists have to perform in front of Glee creator Ryan Murphy, the writers and stars from Glee as well as the former contestants from The Glee Project! Aylin decides to sing “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele; Ali sings “Popular” from the Broadway show Wicked and Blake sings “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain. After his performance, Blake reads a poem he wrote the night before which makes most of the people in the audience cry!
Ryan asks the writers, actors and former contestants what they think of the finalists and everyone is split on who they like the best! Even Ryan admits that he is torn. In the end, Ryan selects Blake Jenner as the winner! Tune in to Glee this fall to checkout Blake in his new role!
