Kicking off right where last Thursday night’s episode of Big Brother 14 left off, the remaining contestants were battling it out to be the next Head of Household. Well, not all of them. In an awesome twist to an already awesome challenge, the contestants had two different temptations they could compete for instead of HoH. While transporting colored liquid from one container to another by
walking slippin’ off their feet on a slippery path, the players each had three containers they could choose to fill up — the largest jug for HoH, a smaller container for $10,000 and the tiniest one for complete safety this week. Shockingly, Boogie was the only contestant greedily competing for the $10,000. And, for that reason, he won the cash, which Frank thought was disrespectfully risky. Where did everybody else stand and did their decision in the challenge pay off?
Power Changes Hands Again
Five players were competing to fill the smallest jug — safety — which Britney eventually won. She beat out Ashley, Dan, Joe and Jenn. Meanwhile, the three others, Shane, Danielle and Ian, were battling for HoH. After making hundreds of wobbly trips back and forth in the back yard, Shane won the challenge and became the new HoH.
I really liked this challenge because it showed everybody’s mindset by proving who is greedy, who is more of a cautious player and who wants to take control. This has been the absolute best element of the entire lackluster season. Plus, it was like watching an episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos with everybody stumbling all over the place and losing their balance.
Silent Six Falls Apart
After the challenge, Ian went to Britney to tell her a conversation he had with Boogie prior to the live eviction. It basically involved Boogie suggesting to Ian that he target Britney for eviction if he won HoH. Frustrated with the deal they made with Boogie and Frank in the Silent Six alliance, the Quack Pack (Danielle, Dan, Shane, Britney and Ian) thought it was time to turn the tides once again. Although Boogie and Frank held true to their word last week, the Quack Pack was convinced they could no longer be trusted. After making their agreement the Quack Pack huddled up, made duck bills with their hands and quacked at each other — one of the worst, most terribly stupid team chants I’ve ever seen.
Ian’s Second Date
After asking Ashley to go on a second date despite her making out with Frank behind his back just days prior, Ian was excited to spend some time alone with her. To get ready for the date, Ian decided to manscape after hearing Shane talk about how he uses a cream to remove his chest hair. Although Ian’s chest is already free of hair because he admittedly shaves it, he used Britney to help him use Shane’s special cream to clean up his animal-like armpits. With clean pits, Ian raised his arms, stripped down and took a shower to be squeaky clean for his date with Ashley.
Unlike the suckfest Ashley experienced with Frank in the HoH bedroom on their ice cream date, her time with Ian was far less exciting as they sat in the kitchen and gobbled up pizza. The boring date led Ashley to believe they are nothing more than really good friends. Sadly, I think Ian still believes he has a shot with her. Ian, I wish you would just focus your attention away from her. You have potential to win the entire game and I hope you don’t lose it because of a chick.
A claw machine filled with colorful balls was suddenly discovered in one of the rooms. Right in the middle of the machine was a clear cube with a question mark on the outside. Ian suspected it signaled the return of Pandora’s Box. What do you think it means? I guess we’re going to have to wait to find out.
Power Players Targeted
At the nomination ceremony, it was absolutely no surprise that Shane put Boogie and Frank on the chopping block. This proved that Boogie’s decision was a huge mistake in playing a greedy game lured by $10,000. It was totally selfish for him because he wasn’t just battling for himself, Boogie was essentially playing for his main ally, Frank, who couldn’t compete in the HoH competition since he held the power last week.
What did you think of tonight’s episode? Are you happy Shane is the new HoH? Do you think he made the right choice by nominating Frank and Boogie for eviction? At this point in the game, who do you think deserves to win it all? Sound off and leave a comment below!
