Several of this season’s favorite performers returned for a second chance on last night’s episode of America’s Got Talent. They astounded the judges and accomplished the amazing feat of failing to garner a single X! Sadly, all but four will have to go. Who snagged the most votes?
We start the results episode with a bunch of filler, including epic music and sound bites from the twelve contestants. Finally, Nick asks Sebastien El Charro, the Bandbaz Brothers and Ben Blaque to the stage. Continuing on to the semifinals is…Sebastien El Charro! As much as we love the Bandbaz Brothers and Ben Blaque, this was the right choice. Sebastien has the it factor and he deserves to move on in the competition.
The guest act of the night is a Broadway version of the ever-annoying Bring It On series. The cheer stunts are cool, but the sappy lyrics make the whole performance feel too much like High School Musical.
Now, for the moment of truth: what will become of Andrew de Leon? The incredible singer joins ball-buster Horse and fellow musician Jake Wesley Rogers on stage. Let’s hope America voted correctly, because it would be a shame if Horse’s juvenile humor beat out the likes of Jake and Andrew. Okay, time for a sigh of relief…Andrew made it through!
Todd Oliver, Spencer Horseman and are all called onto stage. Howard tells Nick that America has chosen incorrectly so far (oh come on Howard, your version of ‘correct’ involves Mr. Balls of Steel Horse) but gets the opportunity to gloat when Todd Oliver makes the semifinals.
Another guest performance, and this one isn’t really much more impressive than the first. Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen sing hit song It’s Always A Good Time while Sharon and Howard dance awkwardly from the judges’ table.
Next to take the stage are the cloggers from All That, Lindsey Norton and magicians Jarrett and Raja. The judges have the final choice, but first, one act must go home. Jarrett and Raja are sent home first, a development that really angers Howard. He’s not really into dancers though, so we’re not surprised. Howard votes for All That, Howie votes for Lindsey, and now Sharon has to change between her two favorites. Ultimately, Sharon decides to go with All That.
Next week promises to be an amazing episode, with Tom Cotter, Academy of Villains and plenty of other great acts taking the stage for the first portion of the semifinals!
