Big Brother 14 Recap: The Witch Hunt

August 22, 2012 06:29 PM by Ryan Haidet

The game is on as Shane made the best power play he could by nominating Mike Boogie and Frank for eviction on Big Brother 14.  One thing was certain, the Silent Six alliance was dead.  Clearly upset about being targeted, Boogie and Frank were on a witch hunt.  It started as they went to the Head of Household bedroom and questioned Shane about who influenced him in making his nominations.  Shane, who was obviously uncomfortable, basically stumbled over his own words before hilariously saying Joe was the person who told him they couldn’t be trusted.  But the guys weren’t buying it.  They thought the influence over him was coming from Britney or Dan.  He was trying to do anything he could to keep the truth a secret — that Ian claimed that Frank and Boogie were already turning on the alliance.

Not going down without a fight, Boogie suggested to Shane that they could still be friends in the game if he makes things right and works with them.  Like Boogie or hate him, the dude is one hell of a player.  For being so insanely arrogant, cocky and pompous, Boogie can play strategically.

When Britney went up to the HoH bedroom next, Shane admitted that part of the blame deflected to her as he was questioned by Chilltown 2.  Instantly, Britney started damage control.  She rushed downstairs and told Frank and Boogie that she never told Shane what to do.  She did say that somebody offered up reliable information about them saying they couldn’t be trusted.  Now the blame was starting to tilt toward Dan.

After they blasted her with questions, Britney was pissed at Shane.  With tears in her eyes, she told him that he basically threw her under the bus.  She wanted to know why he didn’t own up to making the nominations himself.  Why was her name tossed into the mix?  But Shane made a great point by asking Britney why he is always the person in the Quack Pack who has to get blood on his hands.  And he’s totally right.  On top of being a strong competitor in challenges, he has also been the guy to make big moves in the game.

Blaming Dan

Dan denied the allegations as Boogie questioned him about turning his back on them.  When Dan said he had nothing to hide, they went up to the HoH bedroom to chat with Britney, Shane and Frank in open-forum style.  In true Boogie fashion, he said he respects the fact that they are targets, but didn’t respect that people were hiding.  After a moment of silence, Dan then swore on his wife that he never suggested making them targets.  But that didn’t even matter.  Frank and Boogie’s minds were already made up that Dan was the wolf in sheep’s clothing.  They truly have no idea that Ian was the person who sold them out.

Power Of Veto Gives Frank New Life

When it came time for the Power of Veto competition, Frank dominated and easily won the golden medallion.  “Totally sucks,” Britney said of Frank’s apparent nine lives in the house.  “It’s like impossible to get Frank out of this game.”

Boogie went to Shane again and warned him about Dan’s previous success in the game.  Boogie brought up the fact that Dan was able to win the first time he played because he had a solid alliance in which everybody else did the dirty work.  “I’m blue collar New England, we’re kind of cut from the same cloth,” Boogie told Shane.  “This kid Dan is a dangerous dangerous player.”

Boogie’s Hopes Dashed

When it came time for the Veto meeting, Frank pulled himself off the chopping block (duh!).  Shane then announced Jenn as the replacement nominee as Boogie stared in horror.  With sore feelings, he wouldn’t even shake Dan’s hand when he offered up good luck.  Instead, Boogie told him to “Save it!”  But because he was pissed didn’t mean he was going down without a fight.  “I got a couple votes in the bag with Frank and Ian,” Boogie said in the Diary Room.  “I just got to go to work and get two more.”

But little does he know that Ian is completely against him.  “I’m just glad that Boogie won’t be anywhere near me when he finds out that I had a hand in his going home,” Ian said in the Diary Room.  “But hey, I learn from the best.  Like father, like son.”

What did you think of tonight’s episode?  Do you think Boogie will be able to work his magic once again and be spared from elimination?  Sound off and leave a comment below!

I love Boogie and Frank. I was really sad to see Janel go and Will. If Boogs and Frank leave, its going to be a very boring show!! Ian is stupid and I want him out!
