Howard Stern has no problem giving his opinion on everything to do with judging reality TV shows. He’s the expert after all, having been an America’s Got Talent judge for all of one season. Howard told Extra all about the new (and rumored) judges on American Idol. What does the shock jock think of American Idol’s new judge Mariah Carey?
Shocker! For once, Howard Stern has something good to say about someone! The America’s Got Talent judge tells Extra that he thinks that Mariah has what it takes to bring those plummeting ratings back up on American Idol. ”The woman is an icon,” says Howard, adding, “She’s been in the business for like 10,000 years.”
He might be a Mariah Carey fan, but Howard Stern isn’t quite as sure about some of the rumored American Idol judges, particularly Nicki Minaj. It’s not her insane fashion choices or fast-paced rapping that Howard takes issue with though. He’s more concerned that Nicki is too much of a newbie to do a decent job on American Idol. ”Nicki Minaj is sort of new on the scene…She’s going to out crazy, crazy.”
Well, we agree with the self-identified America’s judge on one thing: Nicki Minaj is probably not the ideal choice for American Idol. Of course, at this point, the head honchos at Idol seem desperate enough that they’ll let almost anyone in on the once-exclusive judging panel. After all, they’re rumored to have considered the likes of Charlie Sheen.
Do you agree with Howard Stern’s sentiments? Does Nicki Minaj have what it takes to criticize Idol hopefuls? Tell us what you think in the comments section below!
