One month ago, Usher’s stepson passed away after a tragic accident left the boy brain dead. The tragedy brought the singer and former Extreme Makeover: Home Edition participant and his ex-wife, Tameka Foster closer, despite a bitter custody battle going on between the two. Now we have learned that Usher has been given full custody of his two boys!
Usher and Tameka Foster’s custody battle was put on hold while the couple went through the most horrific thing that any parent could go through – the death of a child. Now, over a month later, Usher has been granted custody of his other two sons. According to Radar Online, Usher now has full custody of both Usher V and Nayid, after duking it out in court with Tameka Foster.
The couple previously had joint custody, which Tameka was perfectly content with. “Sadly, I remain in the unfortunate position of having to respond to and attend court proceedings that were not initiated or begun by me. I did not file this custody case and was content with the ‘joint custody’ arrangement that we share,” she told the media earlier this year.
And despite the loss of her son, Tameka had no choice but to move forward in the battle: “I do not want to delay thus prolong these proceedings either; I’d rather continue this arduous process hoping it will help move me through this most difficult period in my life.”
The custody battle heated up when allegations were thrown around about Usher cheating on Tameka and using drugs, but it seems that those were dismissed.
