Sharon Osbourne Dishes On Howard Stern, America’s Got Talent Exit

August 28, 2012 03:11 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

It’s been awhile now since Sharon Osbourne announced her plans to leave America’s Got Talent. Her decision was made in response to a snafu at NBC involving Jack Osbourne and new reality show Stars and Stripes. Several weeks later, Sharon’s resolve is as strong as ever. Sorry, NBC, you’ve lost yourself one of America’s favorite judges.

Sharon may be exiting America’s Got Talent, but she only had good things to say about the show during a recent chat with David Letterman. When David asked if she would reconsider another run on the show, she replied, “No, you know I’ve done it for six years. This show is the most fabulous show to work on…but it’s just time. You know when your gut tells you — time to move on, do other things.”

That’s a very nice way of saying that she’s pissed at NBC and not willing to return until they do something about the whole Stars and Stripes situation. But even if Sharon’s not a judge for AGT, she’ll still be paying plenty of attention to the show. “I truly do love the show. If I wasn’t on it, I’d still watch it.”

Sharon also commented on fellow judge Howard Stern. Although she labeled him “very odd” in an interview earlier this summer, she now seems to have accepted his quirks, telling David Letterman that Howard is “such a great guy.” She added (perhaps in a subtle jab at NBC?) that what Howard does on radio “has nothing to do with what he does on TV.” So, we’re guessing that Sharon is siding with Howard on the recent controversy surrounding anti-Leno marks made on his radio show. She summed up the situation with NBC by comparing it to the sinking of the Titanic.

Whoa…strong analogy! If you had any doubts about Sharon quitting America’s Got Talent before, they just might be resolved now!
