Still fuming over Ven Budhu‘s comments from last week’s episode of Project Runway? Yeah, so are we. But don’t worry. Tonight, the Lifetime reality series offers a bit of a surprise that somewhat makes up for the fact that Ven’s still in the competition…somewhat.
This week on Project Runway…
Tim Gunn meets the designers outside of Lord & Taylor’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue. With him are 9 mannequins, each dressed to represent a past season of Project Runway and its winning designer.
The contestants will be creating their own cocktail dresses, competing to have their looks included in the Project Runway collection, which will be produced and sold by Lord & Taylor.
Gunnar Deatherage is feeling pretty confident with his idea for a cocktail dress, but Christopher Palu is going in another direction, making a gown instead. He wants his look to stand out, but will it be for the wrong reasons?
Still feeling the sting from last week’s judging when she was told that her dress made her model look like a stripper, Sonjia Williams wants to get back on top, and Elena Slivnyak is already struggling just trying to find fabric that goes with the design she’s sketched. Later, she breaks down in the workroom. Is the competition too much for her?
After winning the last challenge, Fabio Costa seems to be a frontrunner once again. In fact, all of the guys are doing pretty well, while the women are losing their minds.
Despite her near meltdown, Sonjia is safe following the runway show, along with Ven and Dmitry.
Fabio has one of the stronger scores with his asymmetrical black dress, and Christopher’s pink and black gown is another contender.
Though Ven thought that the women would all be in the bottom, Melissa Fleis and Elena both have high scores.
It’s Gunnar’s “mother of the bride” dress that joins Alicia Hardesty‘s in the bottom.
Once again, Christopher is the winner of the challenge, meaning you’ll be able to snag one of his gowns at Lord & Taylor. Fabio, Elena, and Melissa are also “in.”
Alicia manages to stay in the competition as well. So…. That WOULD leave Gunnar “out,” except, the judges decide that everyone “met the bar” for this challenge, and no one is going home!
