The Real Housewives Of New York City Recap: Hurricane Aviva

September 03, 2012 07:21 PM by Megan Thompson

The Real Housewives of New York City is all new tonight on Bravo. The Countess has to deal with the aftermath of her pirate booty call with the Johnny Depp look-a-like guy. Let’s just say, Ramona isn’t going to let LuAnn get away with anything. Plus, hurricane Aviva arrives on the island. Will she cause major destruction?

The episode begins where it left off last week, with Tomas (Johnny Depp’s twin) being the only one to show up for the party.  “Were you here last night?” Ramona whispers to Tomas.  Tomas tries to blow her off, but there is no stopping Ramona’s line of questions.  LuAnn just stares at them and look very uncomfortable and fidgets on the couch.  Sonja doesn’t care if LuAnn hooked up with Tomas or not, because she wants him all to herself for the night.  I guess Sonja doesn’t mind leftovers!  The scene ends with Tomas and Sonja heading out for more drinks. All the women reveal that Tomas sealed the deal with Sonja that night.

The next morning, Ramona plans a boat trip for all the women.  The drinks are flowing, Carole’s top is off and Ramona is even getting along with Heather.

But the dynamic is about to change, since Aviva and Reid are on their way to the island.  Aviva is freaking out on the small plane, so she puts on her “anti-anxiety music” and tries to forget where she is.

Ramona always has a back-up plan and now she wants a back-up place to stay.  Ramona and Sonja are afraid that Reid might cramp their style, so they visit a rental facility to see what their options are.  But for now they go back to the house to skinny-dip in the pool.  Finally Reid arrives to deliver Aviva to the ladies, he makes it clear that he is not going to ruin the “girls weekend.”  Right away, Aviva asks Ramona if she said anything negative about Reid coming. “Take a xanex, calm down!” Ramona yells at Aviva.  Aviva is upset that her “friends” aren’t being gracious to her husband.  “You’re both white trash quite frankly,” Aviva yells and walks out to find Carole.  Aviva can’t imagine why the ladies aren’t rolling out the red carpet for her husband and is ready to leave.

Take a look at the fight:

The fighting between Sonja and Aviva continues until Ramona comes out and saves the day.  In an uncharacteristic move, Ramona wants to diffuse the situation and actually apologizes to Aviva.  A teary Ramona just hugs Aviva and tells her that she supports and loves her.  Sonja isn’t so eager to forgive Aviva, she feels Aviva turned on her.  Carole is just pissed because she missed her boyfriend’s rehearsal due to all the drama in the house.

After all the fighting, the women get glammed up and head out to dinner. Ramona makes a toast to “having fun” and Aviva mocks her. The dinner is definitely awkward and Carole just wants to go visit her man. “When I get really pissed, I’m relentless,” Aviva admits to Carole.  But Aviva refuses to apologize for her white trash comment.

So let’s hear it, was Aviva out of line with her comments?   Let us know what you think of tonight’s RHONY episode, leave a comment below.

Wow! I have never been a big fan of Ramona but I must say that Aviva’s scolding, indignant, rants and seeming sense of entitlement are enough to make anyone sick! She really expected everyone to fawn all over her for confronting her fear of flying? Get over yourself Aviva! The other women had a right to wonder how a man in the house would change the dynamic. For her to get all butt ass offended and demand that they apologize to her husband is absolutely ridiculous. Who the hell does she think she is? Quite frankly her unfounded righteous indignation toward anyone that doesn’t act as she feels they should is just annoying. Get down off your high horse and quit trying to correct everyone else’s behavior. Save it for your kids. I am still amazed that she made the comment that Ramona and Sonya should go upstairs and “throw their arms around Reed for helping her get on the plane and get there.” she must overvalue the importance of her presence. ICK!! Congratulations Aviva on becoming the new housewife I love to hate!

Aviva was out of control and acting like a spoiled passive aggressive brat. Is she that disconnected to know a Marin a group of girls is a buzz kill,

Aviva’s crazy as a barn owl. Relentless. Is that a euphemism for psycho crazy? Kind of like “All the women reveal that Sonja sealed the deal” is a euphemism for that thing Carole said on the boat? ;-)

Aviva is a Bitch! She is the one that started the Drama and the Countless is another one. The Countless likes to stir the pot and then act like she is innocent. Yes, I spelled Countess as Countless on purpose. Aviva should have gotten a hotel for her husband on the Island and then went to the house to be with the girls. Her husband seems like a great guy, she is the problem. It was a girl’s weekend. Aviva’s Father acted more white trash than the girls. Aviva, quit being a Drama Queen! You expect people to kiss your ass because you took a plane , if you have problems, stay home!!

All of these ladies with the exception of Carole are crazy! Aviva though went way to far. Where does she come off saying that they should have a party for her? She’s miserable and paranoid. How rude and insensitive to call the girls white trash! And it was a girl’s week. Her husband did not belong in the house with them. Either he stay in a hotel or should have stayed home if she is so afraid to fly. But why should she ruin their fun. They were all actually getting along pretty good and having fun until she came! I guess they will renew her contract.

FINALLY! Someone (Ramona)has called LuAnn out on the way she is constantly pitting one friend against another. (Bethanny and Jill to name one group). I thought Aviva was kissing Ramona’s backside a little too much in earlier episodes. So, I’m not surprised she finally said something -but where this rant came from was nuts! They all did thank her husband. So what more did Aviva want? Plus, who is the whack-a-doodle who told Aviva what Ramona and Sonja did or didn’t say. I don’t think what they said was that out of line. I agree with Denise – Carole is the only sane one out of the bunch!

Ramona was wrong, as usual, for making snide remarks about Reid coming to the girls’ hideaway and implying they were going to have to babysit Aviva upon her arrival. But Aviva didn’t save the day by arriving and immediately blasting them. There was immaturity and lack of empathy on both sides. In the end, however, Ramona was the grown-up when she apologized to Aviva/Reid and made up for her past behavior. Aviva is more to blame here, and I’m starting to get tired of her “holier than thou” attitude.

Um..Aviva did you even watch the show before you became part of it? Because these are not exactly the kind of women to roll out the red caret for anyone but themselves. They are true narcissists. Why else would anyone want to be on shows like these.
I do agree, Aviva over reacted with the ranting when she arrived in St Barts. I had a feeling when I first saw here that she would become a holier then thou pain in the arse and she is. Her dad is a disgusting, demented old fart and I feel for Aviva having to deal with that. But, Aviva, hon, you will wear out that husband in no time. He will run for the hills. He is NOT your crutch. No, you did not deserve a party because you got on a plane & no one was begging for you to be there anyway.
As for the rest; LuAnn is a guy, Sonja is also disgusting and sad. I have never heard a woman talk about her used tampon to a guy. No words to describe that, I was speechless and that is hard for me. Sonja you seem to be depressed and need help. Don’t you have a daughter? You do realize your kids see or hear about this stuff?? Ramona.. I hate her too but she makes me laugh at times, she’s nutzo.
I think Carol is odd, don’t get her at all.
I think Heather is hard as nails and needs to stop grinning all the time,
I hate that I cannot stop watching this train wreck of a show.

OMG did you see Aviva on the last episode? You threw my 80 year old ad out of your party. You were wrong!! Bitch he was wrong to be there. Your dad is a man-whore who thinks he can pick, choose, touch, taste who he wants. He’s a disgrace to the elderly and you should not let him on the show. If you want to act all self-righteous, for heaven’s sake don’t show your ghetto dad. Your family is as dysfunctional as a family gets so please go sit in a corner, take a time out and get your shit together!!!

Aviva… the biggest piece of insecure WHITE TRASH I have seen on television! Pathetic so called woman who cannot possibly survive without Reid…VOMIT! She is a poor excuse for a woman. At least with Ramona you know what you are getting. She makes no excuses for who she is. Aviva likes to present herself as an intelligent, have it all together type of lady, which couldn’t be farther from the reality.
