Enrique Iglesias Offered A Spot On American Idol Judging Panel

September 07, 2012 08:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Will American Idol ever get some new judges? That’s what most of us have been thinking, and now, as the live auditions draw near, the show needs to scramble to find someone to join Mariah Carey, especially since Randy Jackson is moving to a mentor spot. Now, rumor has it that Latin hottie, Enrique Iglesias was offered a spot on the panel!

Singing competition shows are not new to Enrique Iglesias, as anyone who watched the first season of The X Factor, watched the Latin heartthrob mentor the contestants of Nicole Scherzinger. But, could he be the next American Idol judge? Possibly! According to Entertainment Weekly, Iglesias was just offered $4 million to join the show as a fourth judge, but he has yet to accept or decline the offer.

Wait…a fourth judge? Yes, reports still claim that Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are working out contracts, and we’re just waiting for the official announcement. Rumor also has it that if Enrique Iglesias passes on the judging spot, the next up being considered is Adam Lambert. No offense to Enrique, but I can’t help but think about how much fun Adam Lambert would bring to the panel.

In any event, the live auditions with the judges are set to start very soon, so they need to get someone on the panel. Or perhaps we will see Mariah Carey and Ryan Seacrest doing the live auditions – now that would be a hoot!

What do you think about Enrique Iglesias possibly joing Idol? Who would you like to see on the American Idol judging panel? Comment and share your thoughts below!
