Here’s an idea: If you’re not making enough money by being on the TV, try divorcing Kelsey Grammar for some extra cash, like Camille Grammer just did. Just how much cash is she expected to rake in?
Records indicate that the couple’s assets were valued at around $60 million, including three houses, which are on the market.
TMZ didn’t just report the news, they apparently weighed in, as though they were the judge, saying that Camille Grammer deserves the money because in 1996, when she married Kelsey Grammer, he was poor.
They wrote the following in regard to Kelsey Grammer’s finances: “Pretty shocking, considering he had earned ‘Cheers’ and ‘Frasier’ money. But bad decisions and a drug problem nearly sent Kelsey to the poor house.”
For the record, there are no longer poor houses.
TMZ goes on: “We’re told Camille righted the ship and managed the money to where they now have tens of millions to split.”
So there you have it. They were “told.”
Camille filed for divorce on July 1, 2010 after 13 years of marriage. She was in the process of filming her TV show when her marriage began to fall apart.
“I don’t want to say a lot of bad things, but some very bad things were said,” Kelsey told talk show host Oprah Winfrey. “Some threats were made, and some extremely unacceptable behavior took place in front of the children, which makes it impossible for us to pretend that we can be civil. It needs to be handled by other people.”
Grammer added that Camille “always wanted to be famous, and was angry that she had given up ‘so much’ to be with me.”
In the end, however, she did become famous by being on a TV show, and rich by marrying a star.
