Last week’s Bachelor Pad ended emotionally as Rachel Truehart sent her BFF, Jaclyn, home along with her partner Ed, thereby setting the final four as Rachel and Nick versus Chris and Sarah. Tonight’s finale promises to be full of typical BP drama as those eliminated from the mansion return to vote on the winning couple. Keep reading for highlights from the ‘disturbing’ finale, and to find out if there’s any truth about a rumored proposal!
Bachelor Pad kicks off in the studio with Chris Harrison declaring that tonight will be insane. I’m up for anything as long as whiny, cocky Chris Bukowski does not win the $250, 000 prize money. The eliminated contestants are introduced and Michael Stagliano, the defending champ, comments on the alcohol-fueled craziness of this season. A montage of tears, hook-ups, and arguments is shown. Oh the drama! The romances, manipulations, and lies are showcased as well. Nick sums it up as, “Bachelor Pad is who’s the best snake.”
Harrison gets confirmation from Lindzi and Kalon that the unexpected romance between them is still ‘on’. Erica Rose warns Lindzi to be careful – she’s seen Kalon out with other girls at events, including his ex-girlfriend. Ouch. I feel sorry for Lindzi – she’s potentially become ‘baggage’ to Kalon.
Stagliano takes the hot seat to chat with Harrison about running the alliance…until his luck ran out. As his montage plays back, it becomes apparent that he may not only have been playing the game, he just might have been playing Rachel as well. He’s shown telling Erica Rose he wouldn’t date Rachel outside of the house, though he loves making out with her. Rachel is shown admitting she’s falling in love with him. Humiliating.
Erica and Mike hash out the details of their ending argument on the show, which featured her telling him that Holly’s best decision ever was dumping him and marrying Blake. Erica stands by her words. When Harrison asks where Michael and Rachel stand today, he says they’re fine, but Jaclyn pipes up to say Rachel is very hurt by his refusal to carry things on outside the house.
Jaclyn joins Harrison on the hot seat to dish on her perception that BFF Rachel threw her under the bus. She confirms that her connection with Rachel has never been the same. Chris Harrison reminds her that nothing is ever set on Bachelor Pad. She tells him she actually thought she was the puppetmaster, not Stagliano, and is bitter. No kidding!
Blakeley is next to join Chris Harrison. Her montage shows how she was screwed over by Chris Bukowski. Chris is shown talking about how great it was to trade in Blakeley and Jamie for Sarah. Ugh. Blakeley and Tony’s unlikely relationship is featured as well. Harrison prods at the animosity between Blakeley and Jamie. Blakeley insists she just had no interest in her one way or the other. Jaclyn jumps in to say Jamie is fake. A bitchfest ensues. Chris brings the conversation back to Blakeley and Tony. She gets choked up talking about how she can be herself with him, and can trust him.
Tony and Blakeley take the floor to make an announcement – they’re moving in together! Blakeley’s like, “And he has cable!” Tony interrupts the laughter to say there might be one last thing. He tells Blakeley he’s madly in love with her. Blakeley’s eyes dart around comically as he talks on. Omigod, suddenly Too-Good-To_Be-True Tony gets down on one knee and asks Blakeley to spend the rest of her life with him and his son, Taylor. Stunned, she replies, “Absolutely!” *Crying*
Bachelor Pad finalists Nick, Rachel, Chris, and Sarah are brought out. All Rachel wants to talk about her failed romance with Stagliano. Rachel calls him out on being completely cold after the show. He says he realized he wasn’t falling in love. Nick looks bored as she goes on and on about it. Michael insists he tried to break it off properly, but Rachel says he lead her on and began dating someone else. Nick looks up, down, and all around beside Rachel. They finally get to Nick, who admits that it was part of his plan to avoid the drama and slip in under the radar.
Harrison next asks Chris Bukowski how scared he was to come back. Bukowski admits it was tough for him, and his family, to watch the way he treated the girls on the show. He says his dad was disappointed in him. He uses getting over Emily Maynard as an excuse for his behavior. Jamie tells him he wouldn’t have been a good father to Ricki. Bazinga.
It’s question period. Jaclyn wastes no time in confronting Rachel about eliminating her. Rachel says it was the worst decision she had to make, and Nick chimes in that their best shot at winning was obviously to bring Chris and Sarah with them to the finale. Rachel and Jaclyn both end up in tears. Gah.
Chris Bukowski contradicts his earlier regret by saying he came to play the game. Blakeley warns him that they came to vote – so maybe he should have kept that in mind. This elicits applause. Sarah argues with Jamie and Blakeley over whether Chris is a nice guy. Chris aims an apology at Jamie, but ruins it by whining about his family being on his case continuously.
Chris Harrison instructs the eliminated contestants to vote for a couple. Kalon, Superfan Dave, and Erica Rose are the only ones to vote for Chris and Sarah. Interestingly, it’s Jaclyn’s vote that seals the deal for Nick and Rachel!
Harrison tells the winning couple there is two of them and one prize. Rachel says she trusts Nick now, and that over time they came together. Nick agrees. Harrison tells them they have to go behind closed doors and choose a sign, ‘Share’ or ‘Keep’. If they both choose ‘Share’ they will split the money, if one chooses ‘Keep’ that person keeps the money, and if they both choose ‘Keep’ they lose the money to the eliminated contestants. Skeery!
The majority of the eliminated contestants feel that Nick and Rachel will both choose to share the money. Rachel and Nick return and Harrison prompts them to reveal their decision. Rachel says you can’t win without a partner – she chose ‘Share’. Nick says nobody would have put their money on him to be there in the end – he did this all himself. He says Rachel didn’t want to be his partner, and tried to leave three times knowing it would screw him over – only Jaclyn’s words kept her there. He reveals his choice – ‘Keep’!
Nick gets a standing ovation after his rant and decision! Harrison restores order so Rachel and Nick can have it out. She calls him disgusting, and he counters that every one of them came to win $250,000, not $125,000. Chris Harrison claims to be speechless. Hmm. Rachel turns on the waterworks.
Kalon declares himself to be Nick’s newest and biggest fan. Chris Harrison heralds the first solo champion of Bachelor Pad. Nick heads backstage and Rachel follows. On the panel, Ed giggles as he tells Jaclyn he feels bad for Rachel. Meanwhile, Nick reminds Rachel that she was ready to ditch him numerous times, while she complains that they had a deal. Nick heads out, bag in hand, with no apparent regrets. In the limo he chuckles, “BP3, anything goes.”
What do you think of Nick winning the prize money? Do you feel bad for Rachel?
