In an update to the recent hubub surrounding “Punk’d” star Miley Cyrus, the stalker found on the premise of her Studio City home claimed Miley was his wife. Unless Miley had a super-secret wedding, which is hard with the paparazzi constantly watching, we’re guessing that this is just another very strange twist in this very strange case.
The “Los Angeles Times” is reporting that Jason Luis Rivera was holding a pair of scissors when he ran from police upon being discovered on Miley Cyrus’s property. Of course you should never run with scissors, but more importantly, you shouldn’t stalk people, at least not without a camera and some press credentials.
KTLA caught the whole arrest on video. On the tape Jason Luis Rivera can be heard saying: “I am a friend of Miley Cyrus. I am. She’s my wife. Me and Miley have been friends for five years.” No comment from Miley Cyrus, but we’re guessing that friends, or husbands for that matter, don’t wait outside your home with scissors.
Fortunately, Miley wasn’t at home at the time. Officers responded to a call regarding a prowler at Miley’s home who had scaled the fence and started to bang on her door. Officers threatened to taser the stalker before he came out with his hands up.
Jason Luis Rivera could be criminally charged as early as this week with trespassing and burglary. It’s not been reported that he stole or damaged any property at this time. Rivera has a record in Texas that also includes a trespassing charge. Bail has been set at $1,000.
