Randy Jackson Speaks Out On American Idol Rumors

September 10, 2012 10:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Randy Jackson was recently rumored to be leaving the American Idol judging panel, and stepping into a mentoring role. Are the rumors true? Randy recently spoke out about the rumors for the first time, but did he give us any answers?

Randy Jackson has remained mum each time he was questioned about whether or not he was returning to American Idol for the new season. While no confirmations aside from Mariah Carey have been made yet about who will sit on the panel for season 12, Randy Jackson has finally spoken out about all the rumors, but did he give us any answers?

Not really. Speaking publicly for the first time about all the rumors on CNN this morning, Jackson said: “Just don’t believe everything you hear.” Hmm, does that mean he will be back on the panel? We have no idea as Randy did not confirm nor deny any of the rumors that we have recently heard.

There was, however, one thing that Randy Jackson confirmed: “American Idol is one of the best shows ever. There are a lot of shows that have borrowed…but I still believe we are the best.” Ugh, we will ever get some answers?

Rumors are still buzzing about who is possibly joining the judging table on American Idol this season. Among the names are: Nicki Minaj (who also remained mum when asked recently), Keith Urban, and now, Enrique Iglesias.

So, the mystery continues…Who would you like to see on the American Idol judging panel? Comment and share your thoughts below!

Jackson has the knowledge and experience to be a good judge if can stop with his generic dogs and give helpful opinions. A judge with country experience could be very helpful. Divas, clowns and a fourth judge would take too much time from the singers.
Is it just me, or do the singers on other shows have to sing more of a song? Why not fill the show with more singing and perhaps some knowledge of what songs the singers had to chose from. Then the voters would be better able to decide. Of course, the votes are almost meaningless now so maybe five or six judges should chitchat and pick the losers each week.

I agree with Annie. I think Randy should stay – I think it’s good to have one judge who’s more of a behind-the-scenes type person rather than a performer. I also agree that he needs to quit with the corny “dog” and “yo” stuff – it’s just stupid. Furthermore, I agree that four judges is too much and the singers should be allowed to perform more of the song. It’s ridiculous that the judges’ comments last longer than the performance they’re judging.

Anyway, I think Randy, Mariah, and Keith Urban would make a good panel.
