September 11, 2012 08:30 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

It’s hard to believe it, but it’s already been eleven years since the World Trade Center was hit on September 11th, 2001. Although their Twitter pages are usually full of shallow musings, celebs such as Dancing with the Stars’ Billy Ray Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne have taken a second to remember those who gave their lives during this awful tragedy.

Former America’s Next Top Model photo director Jay Manuel spent the morning praying for the fallen. “#9/11 I still remember…. Taking a moment to pray 4 those who were affected by this tragedy. #PEACE.”

Fellow ANTM star Kimora Lee Simmons also tweeted about the tragedy. “September 11th, 2012. #NYC #OneLove”

The Hills star Lauren Conrad kept her message short and sweet: “In remembrance: Never forget 9/11.”

Big Brother host Julie Chen remembered those lost but also shared her excitement for a better future. “Thinking of those we lost & the heroes we found on 9/11. So proud to see the Freedom Tower rising in NYC. #neverforget”

For former cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City Jill Zarin, the shock of the September 11th tragedy still felt fresh. “Today is 9/11, I can’t believe it has been 11 years. I remember it like it was yesterday. Never forget. God bless the victims and families.”

Dancing with the Stars contestant and famous father Billy Ray Cyrus honored the many heroes with the following tweet: “Remembering 9 – 11 “SOME GAVE ALL”

Fellow Dancing with the Stars alum Kelly Osbourne wanted to make sure everyone knew about her spirit of volunteerism.  ”Im sad that #911Heroes is not trending I personally went down there 2 help clean up! It was a lot of work & our heroes deserve the respect!” She later added, “My thoughts & prays are with all the family’s that lost loved ones on #911! It might have been 11 years but we never forget our loved ones!”

We’d like to join the celebrities listed above in remembering the victims and heroes of September 11th. Feel free to share your memories and well wishes in the comments section below.
