“Jersey Shore” may be over but the drama still continues. Deena Coretese has gotten herself into a wee bit of trouble with the law in Jersey which resulted in her getting a 2-year bar ban! What exactly went down in Seaside Heights?
According to “Huffington Post,” New Jersey liquor license regulators are putting the hurt down on the Spicy Cantina & Mexican Grill to the tune of $15,000. The crime? Over serving “Jersey Shore” cast member Deena Cortese. As a result, Deena Cortese is now banned from the bar for two years. That’s like 10 years in Cortese time.
Deena and an MTV film crew were at the restaurant on June 10th. Deena made quite a spectacle of herself while at the establishment. She walked on the bar, fell to the ground, then climbed up and stood on a red bench at a table of restaurant patrons. You know, behaving like anyone would with a reality TV show.
Then Deena did something not only scandalous, but also illegal — she left the premises with an alcoholic beverage.
“This settlement is a cautionary tale for licensees who might think ignoring the law for the sake of air time is good for business,” said Michael Halfacre, the New Jersey’s Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control director.
“By turning a blind eye to the mayhem that can be associated with reality television, you are risking your livelihood. That is, without a doubt, bad for business.”
No one from the Spicy Cantina & Mexican Grill was available for comment. Maybe they’re still in mourning the “Jersey Shore” cancellation.
