What message was so important that despite the disturbing images, the greater good would be served? Breast implants, naturally (or unnaturally, as the case may be).
Millions of TV watchers tuned in to see “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star Kris Jenner being wheeled into her breast enhancement surgery in last week’s episode of E! network show.
“I thought it was such a great idea to film that,” Kris Jenner said on “The Today Show” Tuesday morning. “The reason I went in and did that was because I had had my implants in for 152 years – you know, a long time, way longer than their shelf life.”
And if anyone knows about outstaying her shelf life, it is a Kardashian.
Kris said the breat-implant message was of particular importance for her to air for women of her age.
“You know, take them out and change them after 10 years,” Kris Jenner said. “You know, I made fun of myself. Because at my age, you’re over 50 – like, when do you stop? But it was so important, health-wise, to remind women to check your expiration date because it’s a health risk.”
To be clear, the message was not: “Unnecessary surgeries are a health risk.” It was: “Undergo such surgeries every 10 years to keep fake breasts from going bad.”
Regarding health factors for women, Kris sagely added, “Pay attention to what’s going on inside.”
Now that is a slogan that belongs on a poster.
